Day 1: Arrival in Guatemala City (Oct. 29, 2024)
Arrive in Guatemala City and settle in for the night, preparing for the adventures that lie ahead. We'll be there to greet you at the airport as you begin your journey into the heart of Guatemala's rich history and culture!
Day 2: Unveiling Ancient Secrets at Kaminaljuyu (Oct. 30, 2024)
Explore the fascinating Kaminaljuyu archaeological site, a unique example of adobe architecture in the tropical highlands. Delve into the rich history of the Maya civilization as you wander among elaborate buildings, reliefs, and painted surfaces. Visit the National Anthropology and Ethnology Museum for a deeper understanding of Guatemala's cultural heritage. Spend the night in Guatemala City.

Day 3: Journey to Mixco Viejo and Antigua (Oct. 31, 2024)
Travel to Mixco Viejo for a guided tour of this ancient Maya site before continuing to the charming colonial town of Antigua. Explore the cobblestone streets and Spanish Colonial architecture, immersing yourself in the city's vibrant atmosphere. We'll be using Antigua as our base for the next three nights, immersing ourselves in the charm of this colonial city teeming with vibrant restaurants and bustling shops. As we venture into the surrounding villages, you'll have the opportunity to delve into the rich tradition of textiles, learning and purchasing from local artisans along the way.

Day 4: Day of the Dead Festivities in Sumpango (Nov. 1, 2024)
Anticipate the unforgettable experience of the Sumpango Giant Kite Festival, a one-day event that occurs only once per year during the day of the dead ceremonies! Join us as we witness the skies come alive with brilliantly colored kites, a breathtaking spectacle that will leave you in awe. Explore the decorated cemeteries and immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the Day of the Dead. Sleep in Antigua.
Day 5: Exploring Antigua and Surrounding Villages (Nov. 2, 2024)
Embark on a city tour of Antigua, uncovering its rich history and cultural heritage. Visit nearby indigenous villages to witness the unique customs and traditions of the local communities. Sleep in Antigua.

Day 6: Market Day in Chichicastenango and Panajachel (Nov. 3, 2024)
Drive to Chichicastenango for a guided tour of its historic highlands market, known for its colorful textiles and local handicrafts. Visit the nearby cemetery before continuing to Panajachel, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Atitlan. Unwind in comfort as you spend the next three nights in the same hotel, immersing yourself in the cultural richness of this enchanting region.
Day 7: Discovering Lake Atitlan's Indigenous Villages (Nov. 4, 2024)
Explore the charming villages of San Antonio and Santa Catarina, known for their unique painted houses and the traditional clothing of the Kaqchikel Maya who live there. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and volcanoes from a local cemetery. Sleep in Panajachel.

Day 8: Lake Atitlán Boat Tour to Santiago and San Juan (Nov. 5, 2024)
Embark on a boat tour across Lake Atitlán to the villages of Santiago and San Juan. Discover each village's distinct culture and artisanal traditions, from vibrant textiles to intricate weaving techniques. Sleep in Panajachel.
Day 9: Journey Back to Antigua via Iximche (Nov. 6, 2024)
Return to Antigua with a stop at the ancient ruins of Iximche, the capital of the Late Postclassic Kaqchikel Maya. Learn about the coffee-making process at one of the world's finest coffee plantations and savor the taste of Guatemala's renowned coffee. Sleep in Antigua.

Day 10: Maya Artifacts and a Free Afternoon in Antigua (Nov. 7, 2024)
Visit the Santo Domingo Museum to explore Maya artifacts from the archaeological sites of Peten. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore more of Antigua's charms. Sleep in Antigua.
Day 11: Departure from Guatemala City (Nov. 8,2024)
Transfer to the airport for your departure from Guatemala City, bidding farewell to the land of ancient civilizations and vibrant cultures.
